Ministry Heartbeat

Redemption Student Ministry fosters a missional culture for Junior High and High School Students that seeks to make disciples, join together as members of a family, and mobilize missionaries with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Objectives as a Student Ministry are to:
  • Challenge Students to be good readers of the Bible in order to respond faithfully to God.
  • Equip Parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.
  • Develop Student Leaders who lead their peers in Bible reading and living.

Wednesday Night Gatherings

Redemption students meet weekly on Wednesdays a Redemption Ogden. If you are a family with 7th to 12th Graders and would like to get them connected you can have them join us at 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM and or  one of our monthly activities. Please contact Pastor Casey at the email below.

What We Do

Wednesday Evening Schedule

6:30PM – 6:50PM – Arrival and Games

6:55PM – 7:05PM – Announcements and Worship Songs

7:10PM – 7:25PM – Large Group Study

7:30PM – 8:00PM – Small Group Study

What We Are Studying

The Book of Exodus

Throughout 2024, the students will consider “The Shape of Redemption” by studying the Old Testament book of Exodus. When we come together for the large group study, we will consider the meaning of a passage from Exodus together. As we break into small groups, students will be led to consider how the passage applies to their lives and how they can respond to God’s Word throughout the next week. During the week, students are strongly encouraged to complete a HEAR Journal (See the example below) on the passage that will be studied on the following Wednesday. The students’ HEAR Journals will be discussed in their small groups.

Special Events

Student Game Night is on the 5th Wednesday of each month.
Parent Prayer Nights are once a month during regular Student Ministry times where parents gather to pray for their students and connect with each other for encouragement over refreshments.

Family Evangelism opportunities are offered every other month where students and parents together can come to a planned location to engage our community with the Gospel.

Student Activities are offered every other month for students to connect with each other.

Example HEAR Journal

Ephesians 2:4-7

Highlight – Highlight in your Bible and/or record in the space provided verses or words that stand out to you.

“But God…” “…made us alive together with Christ…” “…by grace you have been saved…” “…in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…” “…riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

Explain – Describe what the text is actually saying. What is the context? Why are these verses important to what the writer is saying?

Paul has just described in the previous verses how everyone is dead in their sins and only following along with the sinful course of the world in direct disobedience to God. In verses 4-7, Paul reminds Christians that they have hope because God made us spiritually alive Jesus for no other reason than His love, grace, and mercy. No one earned God’s salvation from death, but He gives it to anyone freely in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Apply – How should these verses change your life and/or perspective?

These verses help me to remember that there is nothing that I could do to please God enough for Him to save me. I am a sinner who could only be saved because of Jesus and the grace of God. These verses should also remind me every day that no matter how bad or how good the people around me may seem, they still need Jesus to be saved from eternal death to eternal life.

Respond – Write a brief prayer to God asking for His help to be changed and committing to live according to His Word.

Lord, thank you so much for your rich grace and mercy that you have

freely given to me. Help me to always remember that you alone saved me when I couldn’t. Help me to tell someone about your salvation this week.
