Healing Threads Ministries is a prison ministry that uses the art of crochet, biblical discipleship, and community to bring hope and purpose to men in prison while blessing people in need with the beautiful items they create. Come hear what God is doing through our ministry, From Convict to Crochet, and discover how you can be part of the mission. Admission is $10 or one pound of yarn.
Who We Are
Healing Threads Ministries is a Gospel-centered prison ministry founded by Jonathan Gardner. Through Bible teaching, discipleship, and the art of crochet, we bring hope, purpose, and the message of Jesus into Utah’s jails and prisons. We provide John MacArthur Study Bibles, Bible studies, crochet supplies, mentoring, and community support to men and women behind bars while helping prepare them for successful reentry into society.
Why We Started
Three years ago, we saw a growing need for handmade beanies for the homeless in Salt Lake City. As demand increased, we realized we could not meet the need alone. Having served time in the very prisons we now minister to, Jonathan Gardner wrote to those facilities, inviting the men inside to partner with us. What began as a simple outreach project quickly became something much greater. Today, men and women in prison learn valuable skills, discover purpose, build community, and most importantly, hear the Gospel of Jesus.
